The epitome of young artists willing to break social conventions in the name of creativity, Matt and Kim are an Indie/dance/punk duo from Brooklyn, N.Y. They literally stripped off social rules when they made an unannounced nude appearance in Times Square for their single "Lessons Learned" on their second album "Grand" in April 2009.
Matt and Kim's single "Daylight" has captured the attention of North American and European audiences since its release in 2008. The tune’s distinctive electronic Indie/punk energy has fun and laid-back lyrics. The video, reminiscent of children's play, conveys a contagious cheerfulness through unexpected scenes, such as playing in a closet.
Matt and Kim recently performed at this year's Lollapalooza and Coachella music festivals; their new album "Sidewalks" is slated for release this fall. If you're in Syracuse today, go see them at The Westcott Theater.
